Ribela - Sidra Natural (700 mL)
Galician organic Spanish cider from Lagar de Ribela
Ribela is a family business dedicated to producing Galician organic cider, made with local apple varieties. This is a sustainable project located in Ribela, in the township of A Estrada, Pontevedra, fully immersed in a rural environment west of Asturias in Northwestern Spain.
As with Asturian Cider and Basque Country Ciders from other parts of Northern Spain, Ribela has produced Sidra in Galicia since the Iron Age. This tradition has only been maintained in some scattered places in Galacia. In the region of Estrada, across valleys and along the banks of rivers Ulla, Umia and Liñares, indigenous apple species have remained to this day.
Ribela uses local and ancient varieties of apples from our own organic crops. Rabiosa varieties like the Raida, Marafouza, Freixerana or Pimienta are part of an inheritance of almost four hundred different Galician varieties.
This Sidra is a classic multi-variety cider blend with a gentle fizz. After a light "long-pour" pouring, all of its aromatic potential, coolness and natural effervescence flow, conveying its Atlantic coastal origins. The presence of the ‘star’ of their region, the apple variety ‘Rabiosa’, provides body and a genuine character to the cider. Intense flavor of fresh apple.
We carry more ciders from Spain than anywhere else in the U.S. Shop our entire collection of Spanish Cider Brands, including several Sidras de Asturias and Sagardoas from Basque Country. Or grab one of these fun Variety Packs of Spanish Cider to get a mix of 6 or 12 bottles of cider from Spain.
