Le Lieu Chéri - Cidre Fermier Brut (750 mL)
Le Lieu Chéri - Cidre Fermier Brut (750 mL)
Le Lieu Chéri's Cidre Fermier Brut is a dry French cider made in the traditional farmhouse methods common to the family's home in Normandy's Pays d'Auge area. (Fermier translates to Farm). The Desfrièches family has been producing ciders for 4 generations now, using fruit grown on their estate farm-based orchard. The Le Lieu Cheri estate covers 17 hectares of mostly traditional orchards - classic Frence cider apple varieties grown on a multipurpose farm including dairy cows roaming amongst the trees. The apples are manually harvested, and the fruit is slow pressed to extract the juice. Naturally fermented with the wild/indigenous yeast from the fruit & orchard.
This cider is highly sparkling and has pleasant aromatics of fresh apple, floral notes, and fruit leather. It's a dry cider with medium-plus tannins and medium acidity that work in great balance together - drinks very dry. Classic flavor profile of ciders from France, including a ripe, bruised bittersweet apple flavor profile, with floral and barnyard notes. Finish has some bitter tannins that linger with phenolic notes.
100% Organic growing practices, the family's farm has been certified by the French government as High Environmental Value (HVE) level 3 - highest potential certification for farming in France.
