Heartland Ciderworks - The Little Apple (12 oz)
Heartland Ciderworks - The Little Apple (12 oz)
The Little Apple is a low-alcohol cider, made in the style of a ciderkin. After the juice is pressed from crushed apples, the pomace (chunks of apple pulp) left behind is rehydrated and pressed a second time. Enough sugar and flavor remains in the pomace to create a second cider. In this case, a small amount of fresh crabapple juice is added to the second pressing before fermentation of this ciderkin to add acidity and complexity. Delicious and sessionable, this cider is just 3.65% ABV - fitting in that it could be your everyday cider option. Aromas of melon and green grape, with light acidity and tannins.
This ciderkin was made from the pomace of Heartland's The Avalon - purchase together for a fun side-by-side comparison. Also check out our blogpost to learn more about ciderkin.
